Singaraja, Indonesia — June 30–July 1, 2025. The undergraduate Geography program at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS), Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), underwent a two-day field assessment as part of its regular accreditation process conducted by the Independent Accreditation Board for Social Sciences (LAMSAMA).
The review, held at FHIS’s C1 Seminar Room and Geography Laboratory, was carried out by two assessors: Prof. Dr. Antonius Nanang T. Puspito from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Dr. Sigit Heru Murti Budi Santosa from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The process was formally opened by Undiksha’s Vice Rector II, who reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to upholding academic quality.
During the assessment, faculty leaders and program representatives presented self-evaluation data, institutional collaborations, and support for the university’s three pillars of higher education—teaching, research, and community service. On the second day, assessors interviewed alumni employed at agencies such as the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the Environmental Agency (DLH), who emphasized the importance of student involvement in disaster mitigation and fieldwork training.
Assessors delivered several strategic recommendations, including strengthening partnerships in disaster and environmental management, refining work-oriented curricula, and involving alumni in academic activities. The review concluded with the signing of an official report and a call for the program to leverage the assessment as a driver of continuous quality improvement.
